BEWARE. You could have a puppy farm dealer on your door step.

BEWARE You could have a puppy farm dealer on your door step. As the picture below taken of a property in a affluent village in West Sussex shows not all puppy farms or dealers live in run down properties in Wales or Ireland. The lady at this property is dealing regularly in puppies from so called licensed puppy farms in Wales. More often than not no paper work relating to the puppies is provided ie. K.C registration or the breeders details. Customers to this property seem to beable to turn up and buy a puppy and leave with a new puppy all with in 10 mins which does not give the dealer at these premises very long to explain the life long commitment the new owners are taking on or the specific requirements that a new puppy needs but I am sure that as the pounds roll in that is the least of her concerns. Do not be fooled by adverts that say they are licensed and the puppies are vet checked as anybody selling multiple breeds of puppies on a regular basis is buying from puppy farms and even if you are luckily enough to buy a nice healthy puppy think of its mother and father who will be in a puppy farm probably in Wales or Ireland solely for money making, being mated as often as possible to produce as many puppies as possible often living in squalid conditions. If you are considering buying a new puppy please contact your local rescue centres as they are all full of unwanted dogs often brought from these places with little thought of what is a life time commitment. The owners of these establishments have little regard for the welfare of the puppies they sell as long as they are making money. Puppies often arrive mid week and are in papers such as the Friday-ads for sale at the weekend making a nice profit for the dealers. This time frame also makes it impossible for the dealers to know if the puppy you are buying is incubating any disease so you could end up with a very sick puppy. If you have purchased a puppy from a puppy dealer and are having problems or if you have any information relating to a puppy farm in your area please contact info@crueltyexposed.co.ukBelow are a couple of pictures from licensed puppy farms in wales that supply these dealers. These pictures was taken on night shot as the place was in total darkness.Below are pictures from a puppy farm in Wales that supplies dealers with puppies

Wayne Spencer gets away with it again!

Wayne Spencer gets away with it again! Countryside Alliance supporter, Wayne Spencer has got away yet again - mainly because the jury were unaware of his real background (see article). However, he had an uncomfortable four weeks in the dock which is some consolation. He has been lucky so far, but luck has a habit of running out, especially when you are the ultimate thug! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Hunt trio cleared of robberyTHREE hunt supporters have been cleared of robbing two "saboteurs" of their camcorders at a meet near Alresford.A four-week trial at Winchester Crown Court, which ended today (April 3), saw Peter Bogris, 30, of Petersfield, George Juer, 26, of Alton, and Wayne Spencer, 40, Billingshurst, West Sussex, all accused of robbery and affray. They were said to have attacked "hunt monitors" Iris Luppa and Stella Hardy, both from the Reading area, at a meet of the Hampshire Hunt on February 24 last year. The prosecution alleged that the trio took the cameras by force as the two women were "surrounded" by hunt followers on a path in countryside near Preston Candover.Mr Bogris, Mr Juer and Mr Spencer denied the allegations and a jury took an hour-and-a-half to find them not guilty of all charges.Giving evidence, Miss Hardy, 34, said: "The first male, who drove the quad, tried to get my camera out of my hand and the second male had me by my hair."I was forced to the ground by both of these men."Miss Hardy said the man on the quad bike was Mr Bogris and he was aided by an unknown man.Miss Luppa said it was Mr Spencer who grabbed her camera and that she was then attacked from behind by Mr Juer.Labelling the alleged victims as "hunt saboteurs", the defence on behalf of Mr Bogris and Mr Juer said that the pair were on the path at the time and that an argument erupted over Miss Hardy filming children, but said the women fabricated what happened.Mr Bogris, a farmer, said he was looking after a three-year-old boy for the day as he drove around on his quad bike."She (Stella Hardy) did approach me directly, she was making an attempt to video the boy sat on my lap."He said she said she was "only interested in filming the kiddies", a comment which caused a lot of offence.Mr Bogris added: "It ended up in a bit of pushing and shoving, a woman got involved."The boy got quite upset by this stage, so I got back on the quad and continued on for a little while."Mr Juer, a gun dealer, said he told Miss Hardy to stop filming the youngsters and that during the "pushing and shoving" on the path, Miss Luppa was pushed into him and they both fell over.He said Miss Hardy ran up to him and shouted abuse, pointing her finger at him. He pointed back and she grabbed his finger and bent it down hard, before hitting him on the chin.Mr Spencer's counsel said he was at least 40 yards away from the scuffle when it happened. The pig farmer said he saw screaming and shouting further down the path, but did not get involved - he was wary having been previously convicted of common assault after an incident at a past hunt."I knew not to go down there," he said.5:35pm Thursday 3rd April 2008http://www.thisishampshire.net/news

Campaigners lobby Sussex Police over the Crawley and Horsham hunt's flouting of the Hunting Act

Campaigners lobby Sussex Police over the Crawley and Horsham hunt's flouting of the Hunting Act Anti hunt campaigners listed 25 instances of suspected illegal hunting, harassment, abuse and motoring offences in a complex six page report report presented to Sussex Police on Wed. 26th March, in a handover covered by Meridian TV news. The Crawley and Horsham hunt is one of the least open and transparent of hunts in the country and uses harassment and intimidation to prevent filming, while trying to cover its tracks by pretending riders with new dusters on the end of their whips can lay trails in impenetrable wood and scrub. Fronted by abusive and hostile hunt masters, they have had an obvious intention to defy the law since the inception of the ban. Because it may be difficult to determine which hunts are openly breaking the law this is Cruelty Exposed's guide to those wanting to find a hunt to monitor: The ones to watch: 1) Find a hunt that "does not" publish it's meets 2) Find a hunt with hostile and abusive hunt masters 3) Find a hunt that does everything to obstruct videoing of their activities 4) Find a hunt that uses "stewards" to prevent all videoing on private woods and fields 5) Look for a hunt with riders having dusters on their whips - a clear sign a charade is being played out 6) Look for hunts entering hounds in impenatrable bracken and scrub and wood where false trails could not be laid 7) Look for hunts that dig out using terriers 8) Look for hunt claiming "exempt hunting" using birds of prey. Ignore hunts if they fulfil all of these: 1) Allow you to film openly 2) The masters are not hostile to you 3) Appear to be laying a trails in the open and which hounds appear to follow when you turn up unanounced. 4) Do not dig out 5) Riders that are friendly 6) Publish their meets 1) Campaigners presenting their report to Sussex police Wed. 26th March, 08.

Police probe MP quad bike footage

Police probe MP quad bike footage Watch The Video Footage HerePolice are investigating a film allegedly showing a Conservative MP riding a quad bike on a public road. A child is seen perched behind Nicholas Soames, MP for Mid Sussex. Two more children and other adults are in a trailer being towed by the quad bike. Hunt saboteurs claim the footage was shot on New Year's Day in Slaugham, West Sussex, as Mr Soames followed the Crawley and Horsham Hunt. A spokesman for Mr Soames said he was away and had no comment. Off-road use None of the children appear to be strapped in or to be wearing helmets in the footage. The Police National Legal Database advises that most quad bikes are only designed for off road use. "They do not conform to regulations in relation to tyres, lights, horn, speedometer etc. and it is therefore illegal to use them on a road," the database says. "However, there are some road legal quad bikes and in order to be used legally on the road they must registered with the DVLA, taxed, insured and have an MOT." A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: "We have received pictures of a quad bike incident which are alleged to have been taken in Slaugham on 1 January and we are investigating." http://news.bbc.co.uk/player/nol/newsid_7170000/newsid_7170000/7170072.stm?bw=bb&mp=wm&news=1&bbcws=1Also 03/01/2008 Quad an idiotEXCLUSIVE Safety campaigners blast Tory MP for risking kids' lives in danger road stuntTory buffoon Nicholas Soames rides a quad bike with a youngster perched dangerously behind - days after a girl was killed on one of the four-wheelers.The child had to balance on a pallet wedged behind the Mid Sussex MP as he illegally towed two more children in a trailer.None of the youngsters was strapped in or wearing a crash helmet for the perilous journey along a country lane.Police are now deciding whether to charge Mr Soames, 59, for traffic offences. Witnesses were "gobsmacked" when the MP drove past with a trailer full of people chasing a New Year's Day hunt. Hunt monitor Maz Martins, 44, said: "The bikes can go fast.He must have been doing about 20mph. If he'd had to brake fast someone would have been badly hurt. There was nothing to keep those children safe."It came less than a week after Elizabeth Cooke, seven, was killed riding a quad bike near her home in Essex. She died after being hit by a Range Rover. But Mr Soames yesterday laughed at claims he put the children at risk as he chased the Crawley and Horsham hunt on Hampshire Hill in Horsham. He said: "Come on, we were following the hounds. What was I supposed to do? I don't accept the children were at risk."I was only on the public road for a few hundred yards and it is hardly the M25. I was on the grass verge for most of the time."What with Darfur, Pakistan and Kenya, it's hardly the biggest scandal of the moment."Those f*****s the hunt monitors are always out to get us in any way possible - and it's a coup to get a Tory MP."But he added: "I hold my hands up, I was on a public road."I didn't realise I was breaking the law but ignorance is no defence. I'm sorry."Riders need a V5 licence to use a quad bike on the highway. They also need approval from the Department of Transport to to carry a passenger. But even if these are obtained, a police source said it is "highly illegal" to carry children in a trailer on a public road. The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents slammed Mr Soames' actions.Head of road safety Kevin Clinton said: "All those children and adults are in danger. Even a minor collision would send them flying all over the road, with the possibility of injury or worse."http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/topstories/2008/01/03/quad-an-idiot-89520-20273237/

Andrew Leaver, MD of Leaver Evans LTD, given police caution

Andrew Leaver - Countryside Alliance fundraiser - ExposedAndrew Leaver, MD of Leaver Evans LTD, given police cautionWe can reveal that the man who was behind an extremist pro hunt website is Andrew Leaver, a Crawley and Horsham Hunt steward, known to hunt monitors as Mr Toad because of his corpulent figure and old fashioned dress sense: plus an uncanny resemblance to the fictional character from Wind in the Willows! We can also reveal that he has just received a formal police caution after taking photographs in a court building and putting one up on his website. Taking photos or video "within the precincts of a court" is a serious offence and is arrestable without warrent. His domain is registered to: Andrew Leaver Trading as: Leaver EvansThe background to Andrew Leaver is revealed here: http://www.countryside-alliance.org.uk/fundraising/mount-kilimanjaro-challenge-2007/andrew-leaver/Keen country sports participant Andrew, 37, lives with his wife Carol, chickens, cat, ferret, etc in Horsham, West Sussex. His main passion is shooting but he enjoys all things countryside and follows the Crawley and Horsham Hunt as a Steward (“due to my atrocious horsemanship it is safer for everyone if I am on foot!”). He moved to the countryside five years ago after living in London where he ran bars and nightclubs – hesaid: “I think most of my friends in West Sussex think Kilimanjaro may be a nightclub just off the King's Road and the whole thing is an excuse for a good night out!” Andrew is the MD and co-founder of Leaver Evans Ltd, one of the world’s the leading providers of investment properties in the Far EastHis company: http://www.leaverevans.com However, despite claims of being one of the "world's leading providers of investment properties in the Far East," his company's prestigious registered address can be obtained for £99.99 from a company formation agent, and its main telephone number goes direct to Andrew Leaver. Leaver Evans LTD was only incorporated in may 2006 With an issue capital of £1000. His principle advertising thrust seems to be at the rather parochial Knepp Polo club, where he pushes the Leaver Evans cup. Company records also indicate Leaver Evans LTD was called Leaver Estates LTD last year, and had a rather chequered history. Perhaps all this explains why he will be up at before 6 in the morning offering his services to the Crawley and Horsham hunt (which is practically the Knepp Polo Club in disguise). Toad and Badger. Andrew Leaver (Mr Toad) Injured "hard terriers" which force hunt to illegally dig outIn Wind in the Willows, badger is sometimes terrorised by Mr Toad. As truth is often stranger than fiction, view Andrew Leaver digging into a badger sett at Heaselands estate, Haywards Heath, W. Sussex, after the Crawley and Horsham hunt had illegally chased a fox to ground, and then had illegally entered a terrier into the sett, and claimed it was trapped. The hunt, which illegally uses hard terriers, digs out as a matter of routine, contrary to the Hunting Act 2004. Please Click Here For Video Of Leaver Digging Into The Badger Set At HeaselandsAs a result of Lever et al digging out a badger sett, Sussex Police have forged new guidelines for officers attending hunts. The new guidelines were forged from a meeting held by senior Sussex police with Mike Hobday of the League Against Cruel Sports, and Richard Yarnell head of the Badger Trust, together with hunt monitors. Police accepted that mistakes were made in allowing Leaver and others to dig out a badger sett, and are determined to prevent a repetition. For detials of the new guidelines please click here for diggingout.orgHunt terrierman fined £80 fixed penalty for abusive behaviour Jeremy Charman, a hunt terrier-man of the notorious Crawley and Horsham hunt based in Sussex has been fined £80.00 by police after throwing a dead rabbit at hunt monitors in November 07. Hunt monitors attending the hunt near Shipley, W. Sussex were followed by "hunt stewards" to a veteranary practice when they found a rabbit suffering from myxamatosis. In an attempt to mock this humanitarian assistance for a sick animal, Charman was later videoed throwing a dead rabbit at monitors, shouting :"Try to revive this *****." In Nov. 06 Charman was videoed digging into a badger sett at the Heaselands estate, W. Sussex after the Crawley and Horsham hunt had chased a fox to ground. As a result, Sussex police have issued new guidelines to police and are determined not to allow hunts to dig out badger setts in future.Privately, police also accept that terrier-men digging out or using a terrier to bolt in the wake of a hunt provides reasonable suspicion that hounds have illegally chased a fox to ground. Therefore the written permission of the landowner required for any terrier work is a significant piece of evidence for the landowner backing illegal hunting where they have invited the hunt onto their land. It is therefore vital that police gain that written permission and that evidence goes into the pot when presenting video evidence of illegal hunting.Andrew William Leaver and his new identity

warning for hunt steward and landowner revokes hunt permission

Nov. 18th 07 Hunt steward receives a warning under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997. Police have issued a warning to Christopher Curtis, a hunt steward with the Crawley and Horsham after harassing a hunt monitor.Sergeant Philip of Sussex police wrote to say: "I am of the opinion having viewed the footage that you were subject to harassment by way of Mr Curtis blocking you from carrying out lawful activity, in this case filming, in a public place. I have personally issued a harassment warning to him of which he has accepted." Landowner revokes hunt's permissionAnd in a separate incident involving Curtis, a landowner has revoked the Crawley and Horsham hunt's permission to go on their land. The incident arose from the harassment tactics of Curtis on a public bridleway at Partridge Green last season. Curtis claimed to be acting "for the landowner". However, following complaints to the West Sussex County Council's Rights of Way officer, the council warned the landowner and provided a video of the behaviour. This resulted in the landowner revoking the hunts permission.

Man avoids jail after hunt attack

9 November 2007 Man avoids jail after hunt attack An elderly hunt supporter who broke the arm of a protester when he attacked her with his stick has avoided jail. John Hawkins was convicted of causing grievous bodily harm at an earlier trial, and was given a suspended jail term at Hove Crown Court on Friday. Hawkins, 69, of Cowfold, Sussex, struck Lynn Phillips during clashes at a hunt near Horsham in January 2005. Trouble had flared between pro and anti hunt supporters at Spear Hill at the end of the Crawley and Horsham hunt. Struck twice Ms Phillips said she was approached and struck twice on the head and hand by Hawkins when she was looking for a dog she believed was injured. An X-ray two days later revealed she had a broken arm, the court heard. Andrew Selby, defending, said it was a "spur of the moment" reaction and Hawkins deeply regretted the incident. Recorder Heather Norton told Hawkins: "Your action to strike Lynn Phillips deliberately with your stick takes this case over the threshold of the imposition of a custodial sentence. "However, in my judgment, the exceptional circumstances permits me to suspend the order of imprisonment that I will impose." She sentenced him to eight months imprisonment, which was suspended for a year. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/sussex/7086944.stm

"Hunt Supporter Broke Anti-Hunt Campaigner's Arm"

"Hunt Supporter Broke Anti-Hunt Campaigner's Arm" Jury at Brighton Crown Court (Lewes Combined Court) find hunt supporter Guilty A jury (Oct. 11, 07) has found John Hawkins a 69 year old Crawley and Horsham hunt supporter guilty of Grevious Bodily harm, after deliberating for more than nine hours to reach a majority verdict. Hawkins, who runs a private slaughter house at Singers Farm, Cowfold, will be sentenced on Nov. 8th. The case relates to an incident on 29 Jan 05, where Hawkins struck anti-hunt campaigner, Lynn Phillips with a stick, causing a "night-stick fracture" of the forearm. This is a fracture caused where a person brings their arm up to defend their head from an overhead blow. The incident ocured at Spear Hill, near Ashington, W. Sussex. At the time fox hunting was still legal, but parliament had voted to ban hunting with dogs. Hunt supporters were furious, and two months before the incident, the Crawley and Horsham hunt master, Kim Richardson (see video on Cruelty Exposed) www.crueltyexposed.co.uk ) issued a chilling threat to anti hunt campaigners: "You are all fair game now, I've ***** told everyone.Following the incident and while Lynn was being taken for medical treatment in the West Sussex Wildlife Protection Group's minibus, the driver was assaulted by a hunt supporter (Surrey Union Whipper in, Andrew Hazletine: see picture), while another hunt supporter (Surrey Union hunt groom, Joscelyn Cleveland) stole the keys. Both hunt supporters later received formal police cautions, and the thief (Cleveland) who stole the keys paid compesation in an out of court settlement.Lynn's assailant - John HawkinsKey Thief-Andrew HazletineKim Richardson

The Catalan Government is trying to legalize hunting birds with glue, through a new regulation. This cruel method is specifically banned by the European laws because is also massive, non-selective and impossible to control properly. In the name of "tradition" the hunters use electronic appeals and hundreds of thousands of thrush migrating from northern Europe, and about 30% of protected birds, are attracted to glued trees, in closed “barracas”, and killed in the Ebro area between October and November. In the same law-project the Catalan government is also trying to legalize a kind of net-trap hunting called "filat", which consist in trapping the thirsty birds attracted by small water pools, also forbidden in Spain, non-selective and impossible to control. The protection of the nature performs all over new attitudes, but our government “of progress and ecologist” is of looking to a past of survival hunting that destroys protected species. Please send your signatures to our campaign against this legalisation.
THREE ACCUSED OF BREAKING HUNTING ACT

THREE ACCUSED OF BREAKING HUNTING ACT Date : 22.09.07 A date has been set for the trial of three men accused of hunting illegally in the Westcountry. The members ofthe Minehead Harriers will appear before magistrates in Taunton on October 8.They face allegations under the Hunting Act, in a prosecution brought by the League Against Cruel Sports. It is understood the organisation has footage which it claims shows the trio hunting illegally.Papers have been served on Minehead Harriers huntmaster Sydney Westcott, as well as William Goffe and Gary Bradley. All three stand accused under the Hunting Act, but Gary Bradley, the hunt's whipper-in, is also alleged to have committed a public order offence. The allegations relate to an incident in January this year. The huntsmen have the support of their hunt and of the Countryside Alliance. The case will be the third brought by the league in the region. So far, all of them have been in Somerset. The organisation has succeeded in its two other prosecutions. In June, huntsman Richard Down and whipper-in Adrian Pillivant, of the Quantock Staghounds, were convicted at Bristol Magistrates' Court. They were each fined £500 and ordered to pay £1,000 costs. In August last year, Tony Wright, of the Exmoor Foxhounds, became the first person to be found guilty of hunting illegally. He was fined £500, but he has lodged an appeal, which is scheduled to be heard at Exeter Crown Court on November 5.http://www.thisisdevon.co.uk/displayNode.jsp?nodeId=143632&command=displayContent&sourceNode=142719&contentPK=18462339&folderPk=91672&pNodeId=201752

Fox dug out and shot at the home of Lady Lucinda Kleinwort, Heaselands Estate, Haywards Heath.

Please Click Here To See The Video Our video opens with the grinning face of "Lady Lucinda Kleinwort", director of the Crawley and Horsham hunt. Terrier-men (ANGUS MACKAY, JEREMY CHARMAN) claim she gave them permission to bolt foxes on her Heaslands estate and dig out if necessary following her invite the the Crawley and Horsham hunt's hounds, to hunt on her estate. During this incident in Nov. 06 police were called, followed by RSPCA. None of them had a video camera. Despite being shown it was a badger sett, they allowed the dig, although the RSPCA Inspector asked them to stop. Police later claim they asked the RSPCA to lead. However, after four hours of digging (ostensibly to rescue a trapped terrier), two foxes were shot.Meetings by monitors with Supt. Goddard and Chief Inspector Hanbury at the RSPCA HQ have revealed an admission that: 1) Their Inspectors were out of their depth 2) That the police failed to support their officers in allowing the dig to stop, pending independent examination of the suspect sett.3) That police failed to allow their officers to secure the necessary evidence. We have subsequently brought the police and RSPCA together on this matter and hope lessons have been learned. Perhaps the most important and elementary issue is that police and RSPCA inspectors should carry video cameras. The Surrey badger group examined the suspect sett just over two weks after the incident: they found it to be an active twin entrance outlying badger sett with latrines! The law:The so called "Gamekeepers exemption" allows a single terrier to flush a fox from an fox earth (not badger sett) for the protection of birds on shooting estates, but only so long as they are shot as soon as possible. The use of nets which may prevent a bolt (and lead to a fight with a terrier) has yet to be tested in the courts. The practice was never intended by parliament to take place during hunting with hounds. An expose by the League Against Cruel Sports earlier this year revealed that the Crawley and Horsham hunt are illegally chasing foxes to ground , then digging them out and throwing them to the hounds. While the evidence has not led to a court case, we understand it could have a significant bearing on future cases. The hunt is headed by Jamie Hawksfield, who runs Equestrian Vision ( a professional video editing practice). Hawksfield, a foul mouthed woman beater believes the police are his "boys"and treats them as such. The other head is Kim Richardson, a bullying playboy , and is the son of the late Sir Michael Richardson ,who was kicked out of the City by the regulator for practices that could facilitate money laundering!
CRUCIAL TEST FOR HUNT BAN

CRUCIAL TEST FOR HUNT BAN 19 May 2007 Two huntsmen will be in the dock on Monday charged with illegal hunting in a trial which both sides agree will be crucial to the future of the hunting ban.Richard Down and Adrian Pullivant are facing a private prosecution brought by the League Against Cruel Sports (LACS), which claims they hunted a deer illegally on the Quantocks in Somerset in February last year. The LACS will present video evidence to Taunton Magistrates during the week-long trial - evidence already rejected by the Crown Prosecution Service and police.Hunt monitors captured the footage at Longstone Hill, near Holford, on February 16 which, it is alleged, shows the Quantock Staghounds (QSH) illegally chasing a deer.It is only the second time - and the first for a staghunt - a huntsman has faced trial under the Hunting Act, and the result will prove key to the future of the ban and its policing.Last year, Exmoor Foxhounds huntsman Tony Wright was convicted and fined for breaching the ban in another private prosecution by the LACS - his appeal against that conviction will be heard in July. A police-led Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) prosecution of the Devon and Somerset Staghounds leaders is yet to come to court. Anti-hunt campaigners say if Mr Down, the 43-year-old QSH huntsman, and his whipper-in Mr Pullivant are successfully prosecuted, it will put more pressure on police across the country to monitor hunts, and more pressure on the CPS to go through with prosecutions based on video evidence. But pro-hunt campaigners claim it is the hunting ban itself which is on trial next week, and that the pair will provide evidence that their hunting was 'exempt' under the controversial ban.Countryside Alliance chief executive Simon Hart said: "It is the Hunting Act that is really on trial here. It is well over two years old yet this is only the second prosecution of a hunt and we are still no nearer a proper understanding of what the law actually means."These two men are being dragged through court to try and better define what is, and what is not, exempt hunting."An Alliance spokesman added that staghunting has always involved the selection and pursuit of deer with hounds prior to the deer being shot."The Hunting Act does not prohibit the use of dogs to hunt deer, or the shooting of deer, it simply regulates how dogs may be used."The defendants do not deny that they were hunting with dogs on February 16, 2006 at Longstone Hill. They will, however, produce evidence to show that their hunting complied with the conditions of 'exempt hunting: stalking and flushing out'." http://www.westerndailypress.co.uk/displayNode.jsp?nodeId=145809&command=displayContent&sourceNode=145792&contentPK=17360528

The Crawley and Horsham hunt's eagle owl man has admitted assaulting a hunt moniter

The Crawley and Horsham hunt's eagle owl man has admitted assaulting a hunt moniter on 18th Nov. 06 and received a formal police caution. The incident took place at Middle Wood, Trawlers Farm, Southwater, W. Sussex. The Crawley and Horsham hunt had been using an eagle owl to try and claim "exempt hunting." Just before their owl man was placing the bird in the back of Cherokee Jeep L9195NJ, he spat at one hunt monitor, before the following dialogue took place:Monitor: "If ever your eagle owl takes a fox, I'd get it in the Guiness book of records if I were you."Owl man: "You don't know what you are talking about, you dozy old wanker - why don't you just fuck off and leave me alone, it's nothing to do with you."Monitor: "Why don't you go on the bird of prey sites and see what they have to say?"This monitor then crosses the path of another. The owl man confused as to who had spoken, then goes to the wrong monitor and stands within a few inches of her, before pushing the camera hard into her face.

Anti - Hunt Campaigners Hound Police

Anti - Hunt Campaigners Hound Police Members of West Sussex Wildlife Protection have continued with a series of protests against Sussex Police, this time taking a noisy protest to Horsham police station, which follows a similar protest at Crawley police station on 20th Feb. Campaigners are angry that police have yet to spend a single minute looking at Sussex hunts for breaches of the Hunting Act 2004. Before the ban, Sussex police had the highest level of policing at hunts in the country and at one time 80 officers were on duty each Saturday under "Operation Rook". The police were there to prevent disruption of the hunt by spoil sports called hunt saboteurs, and the unbelievable numbers of police were due to the persuasive influence of the landowning community. Now the ban is in place and despite considerable evidence that some hunts like the Crawley and Horsham hunt are flouting the ban, no police officer has specifically been tasked to see what is going on at the hunts. The landowners appear to have exerted their influence yet again! We have statrted to have a dialogue with senior officers at Sussex police, but until we see an improvement, we are going to continue to remind Sussex police of their obligations under the law. The Crawley and Horsham hunt is led by foul-mouthed yobbo, Jamie Hawksfield who runs Equestrian Vision.

Countryside Alliance supporter assaulted a hunt saboteur

click here to view the videoCountryside Alliance supporter assaulted a hunt saboteurA Countryside Alliance supporter has been convicted of attacking a hunt saboteur in clashes on the last day before hunting with dogs was banned on February last year. Farm worker, Wayne Spencer, 39, of Oakhurst Lane, Billingshurst, West Sussex, was found guilty of assaulting Simon Clear but cleared of actual bodily harm. The incident happened after the final meet of Chiddingfold, Leconfield and Cowdray Hunt at Petworth Park, West Sussex. A judge fined Spencer £400 with £700 costs at Lewes Crown Court on Friday 25th Aug. 06. He was cleared of unlawfully wounding another protester, Carol Tibbets. The anti hunt victims of the assault believe the very poor presentation of evidence (including sub-standard copying of video material by police) was behind Spencer's acquittal on the more serious charges. Above: Wayne Spencer on 17 Feb 06. He told a female hunt saboteur: "See this, I'm going to shove it right up your crutch." Above: Spencer during the court case Above right: Spencer seen (in rolled up balaclava?) during the hunt disturbances outside the House of Commons during the protest by the Countryside Alliance, in Sept. 04. Above: stills from video showing Spencer kicking Simon Clear in the head, 17 Feb. 05 Simon Clear after the kicking 17 Feb 05. Carole Tibbits after attack 17 Feb. 05. Her nose was broken, requiring surgery and her head wound required a dozen stitches The incident occurred at Pheasant Copse, Petworth, West Sussex during a meet of the Chiddingfold, Leconfield and Cowdray hunt. The land is owned by Lord Leconfield. An ITN cameraman was present during the incident, but forced to run for safety after being threatened that his camera would be "wrapped around his fucking head" by Spencer. Seconds after that outburst, there was an ambush by a number of hunt supporters, including mounted followers. Above top left: A huntswoman whips Simon Clear as he runs for safety following his kicking by Spencer. Above right: A huntswoman whips Christopher Black, as he is punched by another hunt supporter. (This still from ITN camera) Above bottom: a female hunt rider rides down Chris Black as he tries to get video of the attack. The ITN footage did make the lead item on the ITN national evening news for 17th Feb. 06 when it introduced the Hunting ban coming into effect. Below: what the jury never knew: Background to Spencer Wayne Spencer was a person known to only one or two of the hunt saboteurs present on 17 Feb. 05 but never seen in the flesh by any of them. He was photographed as the person involved in an attack on hunt saboteurs during a meet of the Crawley and Horsham hunt near Worthing on 9th March 96 (the only photo taken during the assault and criminal damage to a hunt saboteur's van.) Spencer is seen with axe handle); however he was only traced some years later when he appeared in the Midhurst and Petworth Observer (Aug 10, 2000) after winning a terrier show at the Chiddingfold, Leconfield and Cowdray hunt's Countryman's day. Above Photo taken of Spencer with axe handle during attack 9th March 96: Right: Picture of Spencer identifying him as the same person, Midhurst and Petworth Observer, West Sussex, Aug 10, 2000 Above: one of the Dorset hunt saboteurs struck by Spencer's axe handle during the 9th March 96 attack at the Crawley and Horsham hunt. He passed blood in his urine for days after the assault. Had Spencer been traced, he would have faced a Crown Court trial in 1996/7 The only person to be tried was Crawley and Horsham hunt terrier-man, Adrian Thompson who said he knew the man in the photo as "Wayne" but he did not really know him, and only dug out foxes with him occasionally. He "could not say where he lived." Thompson was acquitted following the week long Crown Court case due to lack of evidence, and later took up the position of professional huntsman of the Chiddingfold, Leconfield and Cowdray hunt. Neal Buckoke, a Dorset hunt saboteur who had joined the Sussex hunt saboteurs on 9th march 96 described Spencer as "far worse than Thompson". Nevertheless, Thompson is alleged to have told hunt saboteur, Simon Wild, after his acquittal: "Next time, I'll get other people to do my dirty work." He is also alleged to have told hunt saboteur, Chris Black two years before the hunt ban: "If I've only got two years left, I'll make sure you lot are sorted out." Thompson was hunting the hounds at Petworth during the day of the ambush 17th Feb 2005! Because of the several years delay in identifying Wayne Spencer as the attacker in the photo taken in March 96, police had lost interest, and Wayne Spencer largely avoided turning up to hunts after it was made clear on anti hunt web site (Cruelty Exposed) he was "still wanted by police." Meanwhile, Adrian Thompson had moved from the Crawley and Horsham hunt, West Sussex, where he was employed as terrier-man to take a position as professional huntsman with the Chiddingfold, Leconfield and Cowdray hunt based at Petworth, West Sussex. Thompson was known as a thug who carried iron bars and wore balaclavas (see pictures), so it might be expected he would ask his old mate, Wayne to sort out troublesome antis at his new hunt! Indeed Spencer stated at his trial he was great friends with Adrian Thompson! Above: Adrian Thompson with balaclava and iron bar at the Crawley and Horsham hunt. Next picture taken on same day shows him exposed, with balaclava up and iron bar. Above Thompson at the Crawley and Horsham hunt with trademark axe handle. Below: Adrian Thompson, who was hunting the hounds as professional huntsman on the day of Wayne Spencer's attack at the Chiddingfold, Leconfield, and Cowdray hunt!!!!!

Another Hunt Supporter Convicted of Assaulting another Hunt Saboteur

Frazer Sibley a hunt supporter of Bignor Park Road Nursery, Bignor Park Road, Bignor, West Sussex was found guilty at Chichester Magistrates Court (17 Oct. 06) of assaulting Christopher Black during a meet of the Chiddingfold, Leconfield and Cowdray Hunt on 17th February 05. This was the last legal day of fox hunting in England and Wales. Sibley was given a two year Conditional Discharge and ordered to pay £250 costs. on Aug 25, 06, Lewes Crown Court fined hunt supporter Wayne Spencer £400 with £700 costs for an assault during the same incident Footage shown to the court taken by a cameraman for ITN news showed Sibley punching Christopher six times in the back of the head. Sibley argued he was defending a hunt rider, when in fact the hunt rider was deliberately riding into Christopher to stop him videoing an attack by Wayne Spencer. Seconds before the attack, Christopher had videoed Wayne Spencer kicking hunt saboteur, Simon Clear in the head.

Hound killed as Crawley and Horsham Hunt blatantly continues to hunt illegally

HSA News Release 27th February 2007Hound killed as Crawley and Horsham Hunt blatantly continues to hunt illegally Hunt monitors expressed dismay and horror today after the Crawley and Horsham Hunt, exposed only last week for hunting illegally in a new report by the League Against Cruel Sports, were seen to be yet again be blatantly hunting live quarry – ultimately leading to the death of a hound on the A24. The hunt met at 11am at The Bridge Pub, Copsale near Horsham, West Sussex, and had been seen hunting illegally by the monitors present. Despite intimidation from the ‘hunt stewards’ present (employed by the hunt to prevent monitors getting near enough to the action to get video evidence) and tampering with the monitors vehicle by letting a tyre down, monitors remained with the hunt throughout the day. Just before 3pm this afternoon a hound was killed after straying onto the busy A24. When monitors asked the huntsman how this could happen if they were ‘trail hunting’ as they claimed he replied that no trail had been laid at all. Dawn Preston, spokesperson for the Hunt Saboteurs Association, stated ‘What we have here is a blatant disregard for the law – and also for life, be it that of a fox being hunted illegally or a hound who is in the wrong place at the wrong time. The League Against Cruel Sports exposed this very same hunt only last week for continuing to flout the Hunting Act, and yet again we see them displaying unbelievable arrogance when it comes to choosing what laws to abide by - or rather not. Sussex Police were called on by monitors to look at the tampering to their vehicle by hunt stewards, and we look to the police to deal with such repeated breaking of a law designed to prevent cruelty to animals. The law was passed for a reason and needs to be enforced – now.’

FOOTBALL HOOLIGAN BANNED FROM THE TERRACES TURNED TO SUPPORT THE HUNT INSTEAD

FOOTBALL HOOLIGAN BANNED FROM THE TERRACES TURNED TO SUPPORT THE HUNT INSTEAD When Paul Barry Oldreive was banned from attending football matches after being convicted of throwing concrete at Stoke City fans in March 2004, he turned his attention to supporting his local hunt: the Sussex based Chiddingfold, Leconfield and Cowdray. Oldreive's presence was first noted on 18th Dec. 04 at a hunt meet at Lurgashall, W. Sussex. He and two friends were noticed walking towards a hunt campaigner's parked car from a distance. When the campaigners returned to the car, a window was smashed and a video and bag stolen. The victims alleged Oldreive and his friends must have been responsible (although at the time did not have a name for the face or know his background). Police later stopped the car he was in, but no evidence was found. Up to this time, there was an unwritten rule that vehicles were not damaged, and Oldreive and his friends were the only new people turning up. Then on Christmas Eve 04 two anti-hunt campaigners parked their car in Stane Street Close in Pulborough. When they returned they found windows smashed on both cars and a dead fox on the passenger seat. Oldreieve who is involved in selling property in Portugal had boasted to campaigners on Christmas Eve: "I'm a well known soccer hooligan." His friend sitting in a car with him also boasted: "We're on Crimewatch next week, girl." Anyone with any information on Oldreive or banned soccer hooligans turning up at hunts, then please let us know via e.mail.
