Huntsman,Jonathan Broise will appear for trial at Lewes Crown Court on October 25th, 04 where he is charged with causing Actual Bodily Harm. The trial is expected to last 8 days.
Broise appeared for a Plea and Directions hearing on May 27th 04 at Lewes Crown Court and pleaded Not Guilty. The case has arisen from an incident during a cub hunt of the Chiddingfold, Leconfield and Cowdray hounds at Graffham, W. Sussex on 27th September of last year, when Broise is alleged to have ridden into Wendy Bridle, a 60 year old anti hunt protester from Shoreham. Broise was arrested on the 27th Sept. 04 but in connection to another alleged assault on a protester. Broise "resigned" as Professional Huntsman a week later.
In July 03 Broise was found Not Guilty of causing Actual Bodily Harm to two anti hunt protesters, Jaine and Simon Wild at Chichester Crown Court following an 8 day trial.
